Back at Muriwai the chicks have hatched and are white little balls of feathers. The adults are busy regurgitating food and quarelling with one another. Not much else has changed, it is a bit warmer and Lorna has finally arrived. The gannets in turn still smell like fish vomit. And taking pictures has become a little more dangerous as we each get free samples of gannet guano on our clothes to take home.

Fluffy white chicks get fed or lye about in the sun.

Pretty blue eyes.

And a few weeks later almost ready to go.
Caspian terns brooding next to the gannets.
